Christmas Eve Apartment
December 24, 2006, 1719hrs Box 30-15

Rescue 9 added for RIT after DC30 onscene reporting heavy smoke in a 3 story apartment building. After arriving onscene, the Rescue company assisted in smoke removal of the 2nd and 3rd floors.

Santa's Visit
December 24, 2006

Santa Claus made a visit to the Parkland Fire Co. to do a ride along on Christmas Eve.

MVA with Entrapment
December 9, 2006, 1417hrs Box 21-5

Chief 9 onscene with a 2 vehicle MVA with one passenger trapped. R9 and R8 arrived onscene and went in service with a door and roof removal. E21 stood by for fire suppression. Extrication was complete in 11 minutes.

MVA with Ejection
October 20, 2006, 0213hrs

Companies due: R9, E21, E8: Middletown Police were dispatched for a single vehicle accident along Rt 1. After investigating the scene, the officer found the operator of the vehicle ejected into a wooded area. R9, E21 and Medic 167 were dispatched upon the report. E8 was just returning from the dwelling fire in 77's local and assisted. Upon arrival, crews checked the wooded area for any other occupants and assisted EMS in patient care. The operator of the vehicle did not survive the crash. R9 remained on scene for another 2 hours or so assisting the PD with their investigation.

RIT Assignment
October 20, 2006, 0125hrs, Box 77-5

Rescue 9 was dispatched for a R.I.T. assignment after Chief 7 reported a 2 story dwelling with smoke showing. Just after arriving on scene, the fire was placed under control and Rescue 9's crew assisted in checking for extension and some overhaul.

Vehicle Fire
October 10, 2006, 2025hrs

Companies Due: E9, E4-1: Initially reported as a mattress on fire on the side of the highway, Chief 9 arrived on scene with an automobile well involved.

Fire Safety Awareness Day
October 07, 2006:

Fire Companies from the area participated in the 2nd annual Fire Safety Awareness Day at the Oxford Valley Mall. Apparatus was on display and crews from Parkland, Penndel and Newtown participated in an extrication demo. Inside the mall, various agencies and vendors were set up with displays and hand-outs.

Shed Fire
September 27, 2006: 2213hrs, Box 9-61

Companies Due: E9, R9, E21, L21: Two residents dialed 9-1-1 to report a possible house on fire near the intersection of W Richardson Ave and W Gillam Ave after seeing flames and smoke. BC9 arrived onscene and reported a shed well involved in the rear of a residence on W Richardson Ave. Crews quickly knocked the fire down and contained the fire to the shed only. The investigation is being handled by the Middletown FMO.

Fatal MVA w/ Entrapment
ASeptember 21, 2006: 0709hrs, Box 8-95

Companies Due: R8, R9, E21, E77: Originally dispatched as 21's local, AC77 arrived onscene at SB Interstate 95 south of Rt 1 business with two patients entrapped in separate vehicles. R8 and R9 went in service and extricated the 1st patient. E21 stood by. E77 was assigned to cover the township for additional runs. The rescue companies extricated the 2nd victim who unfortunately didn't survive the crash.

Car vs. Mailbox
September 9, 2006: 1534hrs, Box 9-51

Returning from a previous run, E9 took in a reported accident with injuries at W Old Lincoln Hy and S Hawthorne Ave. Upon arriving onscene, they had a one vehicle accident versus a concrete posted mailbox.

Rosewood Ave Dwelling
August 20, 2006: 0146hrs, Box 9-51

Companies Due: E9, R9, L21, E21, L8, R8, E7: Resident from 455 Rosewood Av called 911 stating they had a fire in the roof of the residence. BC9 onscene with a medium smoke condition on the 1st floor. Interior command, AC21, reported a light fixture on fire with extension. BC9 established command and requested E7 for R.I.T. L8, R8 and Medic 168 were added as well. Crews contained the fire near the origin and checked for extension into the second floor. Investigation was handled by the Middletown Twp FMO.

Rubbish Fire
August 18, 2006: 1913hrs, Box 9-21

A resident reporting some kind of rubbish fire along the railroad tracks in the 500 block of Comly Av. BC9 arrived onscene and reported a railroad tie on fire. Assignment was handled by F9.

Hawthorne Ave Dwelling
August 16, 2006: 1517hrs, Box 9-51

Companies Due: E9, R9, L21, E21 & E8. Companies were dispatched for a reported dwelling fire at 151 S. Hawthorne Ave. DC21 and BC9 arrived onscene with a working stove fire. The fire was quickly knocked with a dry powder extinguisher. E8, who was returning from another call, arrived onscene and went in service with PPV and checked for extension. L21, who was also out on another run, staged and E9 stood by at a hydrant. The investigation was handled by the Middletown FMO.

MVA with Entrapment
July 26, 2006: 1828hrs, Box 8-10

Rescue 8 and Rescue 9 dispatched for an auto extrication at Durham Rd and Rt. 1 Business. Deputy 8 onscene reporting one entrapped. Crews from the rescue companies worked to remove the roof and free the driver in 4 minutes.

Severe Storms
July 20, 2006: Community Detail

As a result of a severe thunderstorm, thousands of residents in Middletown Township had lost power. Members from the Parkland Fire Company spent some time handing out bagged ice to some of the residents at a local grocery store. Later that day, crews were out on foot handing out safety information to people affected by the outage. Fortunately, power was gradually restored in the early evening.

Basement Fire
July 19, 2006: 1412hrs, Box 21-8

Companies dispatched for a basement fire at 900 S. Pine St. in Langhorne Manor. Chief 8 arrived onscene reporting heavy smoke showing. Engine 9 arrived onscene sending it’s crew to work in assisting 8’s and 21’s crews on the interior. The fire was placed under control about 30 minutes later.

Carter Ave. MVA
June 7, 2006: 1142hrs, Box 9-11

Medic onscene at Carter Avenue and W. Lincoln Hwy with a 2 vehicle MVA requesting Rescue Companies for extrication. Rescue 9 and Rescue 8 dispatched and upon arrival assisted EMS with 4 patients. No extrication was needed.

MVA with Entrapment
May 30, 2006: 1649hrs, Box 8-11

Rescue 8 and Rescue 9 dispatched for an extrication of a motorcycle operator who struck a vehicle on E. Lincoln Highway near the Friendly’s Restaurant. Crews removed the roof to gain access to the patient who had ended up in the back seat of the vehicle. The rescue was complete in about 6 minutes.

Leaking Trash Truck
May 30, 2006: 1108hrs, Box 9-22, 1768 Highland Ave

FM244-4 on scene with a trash truck leaking hydraulic oil on the roadway. Engine Company arrived and contained the small spill which consisted of about 5 gallons. The trash hauling company had also dispatched their own clean up crew as well.
