November 7, 2007, 1445hrs, Box 9-12
Chief 21 arrived on scene with a large industrial dumpster well involved with an exposure to another trailer at the Penndel Body Works on W. Lincoln Hy. Engine 9 arrived and it's crew went in service with a 2" line. Due to the positioning of the dumpster in the junkyard, access to the contents was blocked. FF Lovett used a blow torch to finish cutting a previous hole on the side to gain access. Middletown FMO was on scene as well. |

October 29, 2007, 0738hrs, Box 9-31
Rescue 9 was dispatched along with Medic 168 for a numerous vehicle accident on Route 1 near the Neshaminy Creek overpass. Fortunately there were no injuries in the 7 car pile up. Rescue 9 remained on scene assisting 44PD as the scene was cleaned up. |

October 19, 2007, 2229hrs, Box 9-32
Rescue Companies were initially dispatched to the Northbound Lanes of Route 1 in the area of Route 413 for numerous reports of a multi vehicle accident involving an overturned vehicle as well as a tractor trailer. Upon arrival, Battalion 8 and Assistant 9 had confirmed the reports with the driver of the tractor trailer entrapped. Crews from Rescue 9 and Rescue 8 went in service to free the driver while Engine 21 and Engine 7's crews controlled the hazards which included a poisonous load in the trailer. Both lanes of Route 1 were shut down for an extended period of time. |

October 1, 2007, 0217hrs, Box 7-22
Initially dispatched as an 8-4 box, E8 arrived on location at the Durham Ridge Development to find a construction trailer well involved. R9 was added for RIT and upon arriving on scene assisted in overhaul. The fire is being investigated by the Middletown Township FMO. |

September 30, 2007, 1454hrs, Box 21-15
Companies were dispatched to Peppi's Pizza in the Shoppes at Flowers Mill shopping center for a report of a smoke condition in the building and electrical problems. Upon arrival, C21 and C9 reported the same and discovered that a transformer located in the rear of the store was on fire. Crews from Stations 21, 8, 9 and 77 assisted in evacuating neighboring stores until the situation was under control. |

September 7, 2007, 1413hrs, Box 9-33
Battalion 9 arrived on scene with a 1x1 mulch fire along the access road of Route 1. Field 9's crew extinguished the fire within 5 minutes. |

August 5, 2007, 1722hrs, Box 8-3
Deputy 8 arrived on scene with a 2 story dwelling with heavy smoke showing in the 400 block of Quincy Avenue. R9 was added for R.I.T. and upon arrival, was ordered to go into service to assist E8 and L8's crews. The assignment was upgraded due to detoriating conditions adding E9, E21 and L65. E9 arrived on scene and dropped a supply line to L8. The fire was placed under control at 1813hrs under the authority of C8. |

It is with the deep regret to announce the passing of Robert “Buzz” Buzby on June 24, 2007. Buzz dedicated his life to the emergency services starting in 1957 with the William Penn Fire Company. He proudly served Middletown Township for 20 years in the Fire Marshal’s Office from 1977 till June 24, 2007. Buzz started as fire inspector and finished with the highest rank possible, Fire Marshal & Emergency Management Coordinator.
On behalf of the Officers and Members of the Parkland Fire Company, our condolences go out to the Buzby family. |

June 25, 2007, 0518hrs, Box 7-2
R9 added for RIT after Chief 8 arrived on the scene of a 2 1/2 story dwelling with heavy smoke showing. E7's crew was in service with hand lines to side A while L8's crew provided ventilation. Crews from E8, E12, E77-1, SS6, E88 and L21 also provided manpower. |

June 20, 2007
On June 20th, a mass incident drill was conducted at the Neshaminy High School. The incident was similar to the events that occurred at the Columbine High School in Colorado. A special thanks to all of those who participated. The drill went very well as the combined services of Police, Fire and EMS all worked together in such a large scale event. Companies that participated were the following:
- Fire -
Parkland, Penndel, Langhorne-Middletown, Nottingham, Trevose, Lower Southampton, Newtown Fire Companies along with the Bucks County HazMat Team and Middletown Township Fire Marshal's Office.
- EMS -
Penndel Middletown Emergency Squad and the MCI unit from Tri-Hampton Rescue Squad
- Police -
Middletown Township and Hulmeville Borough Police Departments along with the South Central Emergency Response Team (SCERT), Bucks County Detectives, the Major Incident Response Team (MIRT) and the mobile command post from the Bucks County Department of Emergency Communications (CP800). |

May 23, 2007, 1123, Box 30-60 hrs
Rescue 9 added for RIT when C30 arrived on scene at one of Waste Management's Office buildings to find heavy smoke showing. Fire spread quickly throughout the entire building and companies switched to a defensive attack. Engine 9 was added on the 3rd alarm and assisted in establishing a water supply to a drafting site at a lake right near the fire scene. |

| On Saturday May 19th, Middletown Township held their annual Community Day at the Township Building. Once again, apparatus from the Skyline Fire District were on display for residents to take a look at. Other events were available and on display for kids to participate in while members from Parkland and Penndel Fire Companies demonstrated a vehicle extrication later in the afternoon. |

| On Saturday May 12, Squad 167 held their annual Open House. Apparatus from the Skyline Fire District were on display as well as a helicopter from PennStar and CP800, the mobile command post from Bucks County. |

May 4, 2007, 2307, Box 9-61 hrs
Companies Due: E9, R9, E21, L8, E7, E77 (RIT), SS6, CT4 Initially dispacthed as a dwelling fire off of Rt 1 in the area of Bellevue Avenue, Chief 9 arrived on scene of a 3 story SFD with heavy fire showing from the back of the house on the 800 block of Henry Ave. E9 arrived on location, established it's own water supply and it's crew went in service with two 2 inch attack lines. Interior crews encountered heavy fire on the first floor and worsening conditions on the second and third floors. E21's crew assisted on the handlines and L8's crew went in service with ventilation and helped out with the 2nd floor operations. L65 was added for an additional truck company as well as SS6 for air cascade and Canteen 4 for Rehab. The fire was under control in an hour and is being investigated by the Middletown Township FMO. |

| On Sunday April 29th, Parkland FC hosted a live burn training exercise on Eastbrook Avenue. Other Companies that participated included Penndel, Langhorne Middletown, Falls Township and the Penndel Middletown Emergency Squad. The burn was led by instructors from the Bucks County Public Services Training Center. Thanks to Scott Molle and Randy Miozzi for some extra pictures. |

April 20, 2007, 1436, Box 21-82 hrs
The second extrication of the day on Rt 1 was dispatched for a report of a vehicle overturned with the driver entrapped. Once again, R31 and R9 arrived on the scene and freed the driver within a few minutes. Crews from E21 and E30 also assisted in the efforts. |

April 20, 2007, 1032 hrs, Box 31-1
Initially dispatched in Middletown Twp, companies arrived on scene to a single vehicle accident on Rt 1 in Falls Twp. The vehicle had left the highway and struck a tree entrapping the driver. R31, E30 and R9 went in service in removing the driver who was heavily entrapped. The extrication took 31 minutes. E21 was also on scene and provided LZ support as JeffStat 1 landed right on Rt. 1. |

April 8, 2007, 2245 hrs
Companies Due: E9, R9, E21, L8 Initially reported to 44PD as an abandoned 911 call, a secondary call was received by Bucks County 911 reporting an extinguished bedroom fire. Upon arrival, BC9 encountered medium to heavy smoke on the interior. The neighbor did extinguish most of the fire in the rear bedroom and was later transported to the hospital with smoke inhalation. Crews from E21 and L8 assisted in checking for extension and some minor overhaul. The fire is being investigated by the Middletown Twp. FMO. |

March 21, 2007, 1328 hrs
Companies Due: E9, R9, E21, E8, L21, E77 (RIT) Chief 9 arrived on scene of a 1 1/12 story detached garage with heavy smoke showing. E9 dropped in and went in service with 2inch attack line. Crews from 8's & 21's assisted with manpower and overhaul while E7 & E77 were used as RIT. The fire was being investigated by the Middletown Twp FMO. |

March 19, 2007, 1211 hrs Box 9-70
Engine 9 dispatched for an LZ assignment after Medic 168 requested PennStar 1 to be flown for a juvenile who was injured after a sledding accident. Conditions were not so favorable in the area due to a recent snowfall, but the crew from the helicopter did make due in a parking lot of a church not too far from the original scene. Middletown Twp. Police also assisted in the efforts. |

March 4, 2007, 1356 hrs Box 21-2
Chief 9 on scene of a 1 vehicle accident dispatched for Medic167 -- Upon arrival he had 3 patients ejected and one pediatric trapped in the back seat and quickly upgraded to a rescue box and had the County dispatch 3 more medic units. Rescue Box 21-2 was dispatched (E21 R9 R8) Upon further evaluation one of the ejected patients was impaled on a fence. Medics arrived and had MedEvac 8 fly for the trapped pediatric patient. R9 was given the assignment to extricate the pediatric. They arrived before other medic units and provided patient care also. R9 took both rear doors to gain access and packaged the little girl. R8 arrived on scene and assisted EMS and provided extrication of the female impaled on the fence. E21 provided a LZ for MedEvac on E Maple Avenue. |

March 4, 2007, 0227 hrs Box 8-10
Rescue Companies dispatched for a reported single vehicle MVA into a tree on S. Flowers Mill Rd at the Railroad Overpass. C8 on scene reporting 3 entrapped and put R8, R9 and R31 in service. The accident proved to be fatal to one victim while the other 2 were later flown to area hospitals. |

March 3, 2007, 0352 hrs Box 8-95
Rescue 9 requested when Chief 8 arrived on scene of a multi-vehicle accident on Northbound Interstate 95 in the area of Trenton Rd. Rescue 8 and Rescue 12 were also on scene going to work on other vehicles involved. |

February 20, 2007, 2126 hrs Box 21-82
Rescue Companies dispatched after a Middletown Twp Police officer reported that his vehicle was rear ended and the striking vehicle had overturned with it's occupant entrapped. The operator was quickly freed before the companies arrived. E21 and R9 stood by on scene and provided lighting for the investigation. |

February 10, 2007, 0853 hrs Box 8-61
C8 on scene of a 2 vehicle accident with 1 trapped in a SAAB convertable. Squad 8 went in service with a drivers side door pop and folded back the roof for access. R9 assisted ER8 and E77-1 controled hazards. Extrication was complete 5min. and the patient was transported by M168. |

February 5, 2007, 1146 hrs Box 9-52
Companies Due: E9, R9, E8, E21, L21, L8 BC9, DC21 arrived onscene with a 2 1/2 story SFD with a smoke condition inside. DC9 took interior and reported a fire between the basement ceiling and 1st floor. Companies went to work with opening the floor boards and keeping the fire in check to the place of origin. The fire was placed under control within 30 minutes. |

Companies Due: E9, R9, L8, R8, E21 Companies dispatched for a report of a white substance leaking from a rail car near the intersection of Comly Av/Hulmeville Rd. E9 and AC9 arrived onscene and reported the powder was Sodium Carbonate, a form of Salt. No services were needed and CSX handled the incident. |

R9 added when E77's crew upgraded a fully involved dwelling to a Box assignment. Upon arrival, the dwelling still had heavy fire from all sides of the house. Crews were in service with masterstreams at that point until the fire was brought under control. (Photos by: Stacy Howell) |

January 26, 2007, 1814 hrs Box 21-8
Companies were dispatched for a reported MVA with entrapment at S. Bellevue Avenue/Fairview Avenue in Langhorne Manor Borough. C8 onscene confirming 1 entrapped and also a landscaping truck leaking 100 gallons of diesel fuel onto the roadway. Access was made to the entrapped patient before the rescue companies arrived and were transported to St Mary's Medical Center. The crews worked on containing the spill and then offloaded the fuel into a container. |

January 18, 2007, 1035 hrs Box 8-2
ORIGINALLY DISPATCHED AS A CAMPER ON FIRE, ADDITIONAL REPORTS SAYING A RESIDENCE WAS AN EXPOSURE OF A 20 FOOT CAMPER WELL INVOLVED. E8 ARRIVED ONSCENE AND WENT IN SERVICE. E44 SUPPLIED E8 AFTER DISCOVERING THAT THE HYDRANT WAS FROZEN AND PUT THEIR CREW IN SERVICE AS WELL. R9, E21 & E77 ALSO HAD THEIR CREWS ASSIST IN THE EFFORTS. THE FIRE WAS CONTAINED TO THE CAMPER AND THE INVESTIGATION IS BEING HANDLED BY THE MIDDLETOWN FMO. |

COMPANIES DUE: E9, R9, E8, L8: RESIDENTS ON VIRGINIA AVENUE REPORTING AN ELECTRICAL SURGE THROUGH THEIR HOMES AFTER A TRANSFORMER AND WIRES ARCED AFTER A BRIEF WINDSTORM CAME THROUGH THE AREA. A TOTAL OF 5 HOMES WERE AFFECTED BY THE SURGE. CREWS FROM PARKLAND AND PENNDEL CHECKED THE RESIDENTS ONLY TO FIND A FEW PROBLEMS IN EACH HOME. |
