December 26, 2009 Box 9-72
Battalion 9 arrived on scene with a vehicle that appeared to have struck two trees on W Maple Ave near Coverdale Lane. Rescue 9's crew arrived and went into service with spill pads and booms to mitigate a minor oil spill. The patient was transported by the Tri-Hampton Rescue Squad, while Middletown Twp PD handles the investigation. |

December 14, 2009 Box 65-79
Engine 65, Rescue 9 and Engine 4 dispatched for an MVA with entrapment at the Philadelphia Interchange of the PA Turnpike. Upon arrival, Engine 65's crew reported one patient heavily entrapped in a work van, while both rescue companies arrived and went in service. The extrication was complete in under 30 minutes. |

Engine company dispatched for a reported 2 vehicle MVA with fire at Alscot La/W Maple Ave. Upon arrival, there was no fire and the crews of Engine and Rescue 9 assisted in patient care and hazard control. |

November 5, 2009 0147hrs Box 8-5
Rescue 8 and Rescue 9 dispatched for a reported vehicle into a residence in the Highland Park section of Middletown Township. Upon arrival, companies found a passenger vehicle into the front door area of the house. The house was occupied at the time of the accident, but fortunately, they were not injured. Middletown PD is handling the investigation. |

October 20, 2009 2039hrs Box 9-40
While doing a walk through of newly renovated Neshaminy High School, maintenance reported a buffer machine on fire on the second floor of the school. With E7, E9, E21, E77, L21, R8 and R9 already on location, companies quickly repositioned around the school to investigate the call. FF's Foufas and Laird from Station 8 were the first to find the incident and reported the machine on fire and quickly extinguished it. October 19, 2009 1604hrs Box: 9-31
Several calls were received for a multi vehicle accident on Route 1 near the Penndel Exit with one of the involved cars being on fire. Chief 9 arrived and reported that now two vehicles were involved. Engine 8 was added for southbound access as Engine 4 was being delayed by the traffic. Engine 9's crew went in service upon arrival and was assisted by the two other engine crews. Traffic was backed up for awhile on Route 1 in both directions. (photos by S. Molle) |

August 22, 2009 1105hrs Box 9-12
Rescue 8 and Rescue 9 arrived with a 2 vehicle head on MVA. Crews went into service with door and roof removal as well as patient care. The extrication was completed in 14 minutes while Medics from Penndel-Middletown Emergency Squad and Bensalem EMS transported the patients. Middletown Township Police are investigating the accident. |

Engine 9 on location along West Lincoln Hy. with an insulator burning at the top of a pole. The company remained on location until PECO arrived to secure the power. |

July 19, 2009 1156hrs Box 21-2
44PD arrived on location at the Reedman Toll Overpass Bridge on Rt 213 with a single vehicle MVA into the bridge abutment with 1 heavily entrapped. Medic 168 arrived and reported the occupant of the vehicle was deceased. R8, R9 and E21 stood by as the Police and Coroner conducted their investigation and then extricated the victim. Rt 213 was shut down for a couple of hours while Middletown Township Police conducted their investigation. (photos by T. Wert) |

Numerous reports made to Bucks County 911 reporting a single vehicle MVA with wires down in the 1200 block of W Maple Ave. BC9 arrived and reported a power pole split with live wires burning in the trees. The striking vehicle was found a few hundred feet away on another street. No one was injured in the crash. PECO secured the scene and Middletown PD was handling the investigation. |

4-28-09 Box 44-25 2002hrs
Deputy 44 arrived on location with a 1 story SFD with heavy fire showing. R9 was added for R.I.T. With a partial collapse of the floor in the house and a burnt out wooden deck, the R.I.T. crew was split into two, setting up on Sides A & C. This was the second working fire in about a 4 hour span on a very warm day. |

4-28-09 Box 6-27 1537hrs
Deputy 6 on location in the 500 block of Pebble Ridge Court with a 2 story, end of the row well involved. Command struck the 2nd alarm shortly after arriving as crews went in service with multiple handlines and a ladder pipe. E9's crew assisted with some roof work and overhaul work in the direct exposure unit. Temperatures were up in the 90's which kept the EMS crews busy with rehab. |

April 17, 2009 0243hrs Box 9-31
Originally dispatched as an extrication, Rescue 9 and Assistant 9 arrived on location of a 3 vehicle accident on Route 1 with 2 patients on the ground. 1 subject was DOA, while the other was injured severely. Crews assisted EMS with patient care and then provided scene lighting for police. E84 also remained on scene for an extended period of time providing light. Route 1 was shut down for about 4 hours in both directions during the incident. The Middletown Township Police Department is investigating the accident. |

Chief 9 arrived with another controlled burn that got out of hand during the recent dry conditions. This time, a burn pile spread outside of the pile and created a potential hazard near a propane grill and deck. E9's crew arrived and quickly knocked the fire. Chief 9 on scene with a fire in a burn pit that extended into the yard and along a hillside. Engine 9 arrived and went in service with 2 lines. Field 9's crew assisted. | On January 7th, Deputy Chief Tom Stressman and FF Bill Oettinger participated in WPVI's "Operation 6 Save a Life" smoke detector program. Each year, Channel 6 sponsors a program with fire safety tips and distributes thousands of smoke detectors to local fire departments. This year, Parkland Fire Company received almost 100 detectors. These detectors will be available to local residents who may need a smoke detector for their home. For information on how to receive a detector, please contact us or stop by the firehouse.
