Tuscano Grill Smoke Condition
July 11, 2008 0939hrs Box 4-16

E4 & E65 were originally dispatched for the alarm system at the Tuscano Grill on Street Rd. Bensalem PD arrived and reported a smoke condition in the building prompting the assignment to be upgraded. E9 was out on a detail responded in place of the Rescue arrived and assisted E4's crew with PPV.

Attic Fire
July 11, 2008 0007hrs Box 9-51
Apparatus Due: R9 E9 L21 R8 E7 E77

Two 9-1-1 calls in the 300 Block of S. Hawthorne Avenue were reporting an attic fire. C9 arrived on scene with heavy smoke showing from the roof area. E9 arrived and went in service with two 2" lines. R8 was added to the assignment as well as E7 and E77 were added for R.I.T. Crews encountered heavy fire conditions in the attic and access was hampered when the attic drop down stairs had collapsed. The fire is being investigated by the Middletown Twp FMO.

RIT Run
June 29, 2008 1853hrs Box 44-19

Bensalem Township Police were initially dispatched for a burglar alarm to the American Belt Company on Adams Rd. and upon arrival found a heavy smoke condition inside. DC44 established command and R9 was added for R.I.T. Crews were in service for over 3 hours on a warm Sunday night. The cause of the fire is being investigated by the Bensalem FMO.

Father's Day Dwelling Fire
June 15, 2008 1602hrs Box 30-43

R9 was added for the R.I.T. assignment when Sta 30 upgraded a fully involved dwelling fire on a warm Father's Day afternoon. R9's crew set up and after the incident was under control assisted with overhaul efforts.

Chief's Vehicle Placed in Service
The new chief's vehicle was recently placed in service. The 2008 Ford Expedition will serve as Chief 9's vehicle and the 2004 Expedition was moved to the Duty Chief vehicle status.

Teepee Fire
April 4, 2008, 2022hrs, Box 9-81

A resident from the 600 block of Playwicki Street reported a Teepee on fire in the wooded area near their house. Chief 9 arrived on location and confirmed the report and had Field 9 go in service off road with Engine 9's crew assisting.

MVA with Entrapment
April 3, 2008, 1605hrs, Box 8-4

Numerous calls to the Bucks County 911 center reported an overturned vehicle with one patient trapped. Engine 8 and Rescue 8 arrived on scene and went in service removing the windshield and performed a roof flap. Rescue 9's crew arrived and assisted in the efforts. The extrication was complete in under 10 minutes.

Light Fixture Fire
April 3, 2008, 1150hrs, Box 21-1

FM244-2 arrived on scene at the Shannon Residence on the Woods School property to find a light fixture on fire in the ceiling. The fire was quickly extinguished and contained to the area of origin. Engine 9's crew assisted the Fire Marshal with overhaul and ventilation. Ladder 21's crew also provided manpower.

Electrical Fire
On March 5, 2008, 0620hrs, Box 9-22

Apparatus:E9, R9, E8, L8, L21, E7
A resident in the 900 block of Avenue F called 911 to report an electrical fire in their basement. C9 and DC9 arrived on location and confirmed an electrical problem in the residence and at the meter. After determining the house not to be energized, crews were sent to the interior and encountered a heavy smoke condition and went in service. The fire was contained to the area of origin near the electrical panel and to the area above. The incident was being investigated by the Middletown Township FMO.

New Chief's Vehicle
On February 28, 2008, Parkland Fire Company took delivery of a 2008 Ford Expedition that will replace the current Duty Chief's vehicle. It will be placed in service in the next few weeks.

MVA with Entrapment
February 21, 2008, 1318hrs, Box 4-32

R9 was dispatched for a reported MVA with entrapment on Route 1 near the Wawa in Bensalem Township. C65 arrived and confirmed one patient was entrapped and put E84 in service. R9's crew assisted upon their arrival. The extrication was complete in only a few minutes. (Photo by Jeff Sarcewicz)

Poppy Ct. Dwelling Fire
February 20, 2008, 1935hrs, Box 21-74

For the second time in only a few hours, companies were transmitted to the 500 block of Poppy Ct. for a reported dwelling fire. This time, Chief 21 arrived on scene with heavy fire showing from the roof of a 4 unit dwelling. There was briefly a report of entrapment, but all occupants were accounted for shortly after. L8 and E9 went in service in a defensive mode for a short time then efforts shifted to the interior. The 2nd alarm was transmitted and all hands were put into service due to extensive workload and below freezing temperatures. The investigation is being conducted by the Middletown FMO.

MVA with Entrapment
February 2, 2008, 2311hrs, Box 21-82

Rescue 9 was dispatched for a single vehicle accident with entrapment on the northbound ramp to Interstate 95 from Route 1. Upon arrival, crews assisted EMS in removal of the patient within minutes.

Dumpster Fire
November 7, 2007, 1445hrs, Box 9-12

Chief 21 arrived on scene with a large industrial dumpster well involved with an exposure to another trailer at the Penndel Body Works on W. Lincoln Hy. Engine 9 arrived and it's crew went in service with a 2" line. Due to the positioning of the dumpster in the junkyard, access to the contents was blocked. FF Lovett used a blow torch to finish cutting a previous hole on the side to gain access. Middletown FMO was on scene as well.

7 Car Crash on Rt. 1
October 29, 2007, 0738hrs, Box 9-31

Rescue 9 was dispatched along with Medic 168 for a numerous vehicle accident on Route 1 near the Neshaminy Creek overpass. Fortunately there were no injuries in the 7 car pile up. Rescue 9 remained on scene assisting 44PD as the scene was cleaned up.

Tractor Trailer MVA with Entrapment
October 19, 2007, 2229hrs, Box 9-32

Rescue Companies were initially dispatched to the Northbound Lanes of Route 1 in the area of Route 413 for numerous reports of a multi vehicle accident involving an overturned vehicle as well as a tractor trailer. Upon arrival, Battalion 8 and Assistant 9 had confirmed the reports with the driver of the tractor trailer entrapped. Crews from Rescue 9 and Rescue 8 went in service to free the driver while Engine 21 and Engine 7's crews controlled the hazards which included a poisonous load in the trailer. Both lanes of Route 1 were shut down for an extended period of time.

Durham Ridge Fire
October 1, 2007, 0217hrs, Box 7-22

Initially dispatched as an 8-4 box, E8 arrived on location at the Durham Ridge Development to find a construction trailer well involved. R9 was added for RIT and upon arriving on scene assisted in overhaul. The fire is being investigated by the Middletown Township FMO.
